A modern eclectic architect’s studio creating functional living spaces that express creativity and spark joy.
SKUUR is a place of making.
It’s where materials, influences and stories are assembled. Where architecture is layered, personal, eclectic.
SKUUR is a place of collecting. It’s where creatives meet, gather ideas, tinker. Where good taste is tested, function fostered, contrasts explored.
SKUUR is a place for life.
It’s where the everyday finds a home. Where living is beautiful, practical, grounded.

SKUUR Studio was a dream that became real in 2020, during COVID-19. Led by founding architect, Colette Pieterse, the vision for SKUUR was always honest and responsive: to build a studio rooted in making in response to lifestyle challenges. The difference came when Colette started mixing and testing contrasting influences. And so SKUUR was made: a modern eclectic architect’s studio creating functional living spaces that express creativity and spark joy.
As we make, we continue to grow and learn, inspired by the people and stories we design for.

“We had an excellent experience working with Colette on the alterations to our home. From the outset, she demonstrated a clear understanding of our vision, quickly grasping our desire for a spacious, open-plan living area that would suit our lifestyle.
What truly stood out was her ability to thoughtfully incorporate the character of the original Cullinan-style home into the new design...Colette guided us professionally throughout the entire building process, from initial design concepts right through to completion. Her support, insight, and commitment made the journey smooth and reassuring.”

“I contracted Colette as my architect in 2025 when we did alterations to our home. She was very professional and brought a lot of insight to the project. It was so much easier to see the end product of the project with how she designed and presented the project during the different stages. On-site visits during the execution phase with interaction with the building contractors also gave peace of mind.”
